Photo Album: Not a Raccoon, but an Owl Causing Trouble in Wall, NJ
A new customer in Wall Township, NJ, thought he had a raccoon trying to break into his roof, but after a thorough inspection, we found out that it was something else.
No Signs of a Raccoon, but....
After doing an inspection of the attic, rooftop, and exterior, I couldn't find any evidence of raccoons, however, I did notice a few feathers...
Bone Remnants
...and bone remnants on the chimney stack.
Bird Droppings
There was even fresh bird droppings on the roof. This lead me to believe that their nighttime disturbance was not from a raccoon, but from an owl.
Smile for the Camera!
So I placed several motion cameras on the roof and as you can see, my suspicions were confirmed.
Dadi Long Legs
To prevent the owl from harboring on the roof, I installed Dadi Long Legs and birds spikes. The Daddi Long Legs will startle the owl and prevent it from roosting on the roof.
Effective & Safe
Both of these are considered a physical barrier deterrent, which is the most effective long-term solution for preventing nuisance birds from roosting and, most importantly, doesn't harm the owl.
