Photo Album: Static Vent Was Chewed Through by Squirrels in Spring Lake, NJ
Squirrels had chewed through a static vent on the roof and also used the attic fan to infest this home in Spring Lake, NJ.
Chewed Through the Static Vent
As soon as we began our inspection we noticed a static vent had chewed marks on it.
Fur in the Attic Fan
We continued our inspection and found squirrel hair stuck in the attic fans. The squirrels were using both the attic fans and static vents to invade this home.
Exclude The Vents
In order to exclude the squirrels from the home, we installed vent guards over every single static vent and attic fan. These vent guards are made of heavy duty 18 Gauge expanded Galvannealed steel mesh and prevents squirrels as well as all nuisance wildlife from entering the property.
A One Way
To safely retrieve the squirrels, we attached a one-way device to one of the vent guards that was placed over the main access point. The one-way device allows the squirrels to safely exit the area, but prevents them from getting back in. We also placed several baited devices nearby.
Safely Removed
Once all the squirrels have been safely removed from the home, we will relocate them to a new, humane environment, disinfect the attic area, and place a new, sturdy vent guard over the main access point.
