Photo Album: Conducive Conditions for Mosquitoes in Franklin Park, NJ
During a Home Protection Plan service for one of our new clients in Franklin Park, NJ, I found a large number of mosquitoes in the backyard.
Container Filled with Water and Mosquitoes
While servicing the home, I noticed several mosquitoes hovering around a storage container that was filled with toys and water. I took a closer and found thousands of mosquito larvae in the water.
Buckets and Flowerpot
There were also several buckets and flowerpots that had a buildup of water inside them. These are all conducive conditions for mosquitoes as they only need a 1/2 an inch of standing water in order to breed.
Remove the Standing Water
The first thing I did was empty all the containers, flowerpots, receptacles, and furniture in order to remove the standing water. Doing this will immediately eliminate the mosquito larvae.
Exterminate Mosquitoes and Ticks
Next, I applied an adulticide and an insect growth regulator treatment to all the non-flowering vegetation areas around the home to target the adult mosquitoes. Once the treated areas dry, the treatment will knock down and exterminate any adult mosquitoes. This product is actually a 2-for-1 treatment as it eliminates ticks as well!
