Photo Album: Fruit Flies Caused by Poor Sanitation in Freehold, NJ
Weeks after purchasing a new restaurant in Freehold, NJ, this client noticed a large number of fruit flies in the kitchen and sink area.
Cracks and Crevices Not Cleaned
As we inspected, we noticed that the cracks and crevices around the bar area haven't been cleaned in quite some time, which contributed to the fruit fly infestation.
Dirty Water Inside Container
There were also several containers filled with dirty water left in the sinks and several of the floor drains were littered with debris and old liquids.
While He Cleaned, We Went to Work
We brought these issues to the owners attention and mentioned a few simple sanitation procedures to prevent fruit fly and other pest infestations. He immediately started to clean the affected areas. As he did that, we started to scrub out all floor drains and then treat them with a liquid product that removes the bad bacteria from the drains. The bad bacteria is the breeding ground for the fruit flies. Once that is eliminated, so are the fruit flies.
No More Issues with Fruit Flies
Next, we treated the drains with a bio-foam solution that eliminates all fly-attracting odors and then applied a fly bait product around the area to eliminate any active fruit flies.
