Photo Album: Clover Mites Put a Halt to Memorial Day Plans in Colts Neck, NJ
A new client in Colts Neck, NJ was getting ready for a Memorial Day BBQ at his home, when he discovered a massive clover mite infestation all over his back porch!
All Over the Place
We began inspecting the home and immediately noticed clover mites all over the pillars, the patio, and the deck in the backyard.
Colorful PinHeads
Clover mites are oval-shaped, reddish-colored insects that are the size of a head on a pin. They don't attack people, are usually encountered on windowsills on the sunny side of homes, and move about at a rapid pace. Outside, they will show up on siding, paver patios, and concrete steps or benches.
DON'T CRUSH THEM
When dealing with clover mites, it is strongly recommended that you do NOT crush them. Why? When smashed, adult clover mites leave behind a red stain, especially on items such as curtains, wallpaper, rugs, and other furniture, that is extremely difficult to remove.
None Inside
Fortunately, after a thorough inspection, none of the clover mites made it inside the home.
Treatment for Clover Mites
We treated the entire area with a liquid non-repellant that'll eliminate these pests almost immediately and prevents any additional clover mites from infesting the property.
