Photo Album: Dry Rotted Gable Vents Are Perfect for Raccoons
Here's Where They Entered
Minutes into our inspection, we located where and how the raccoons entered the home.
Dry Rotted
Each of the gable vents were dry rotted, which made it easier for the adult male raccoons to break into the home.
Attic Fans Exposed
We also noticed that the attic fans and static vents also presented an opportunity for raccoons, as well as other nuisance wildlife, to infest the home.
Out with the Old
After we safely removed and relocated the raccoon to a new, humane environment, we disinfected the attic area and removed the old, broken gable vents...
Replaced
... and replaced them with a new, sturdy one and screened it off to prevent any nuisance wildlife from gaining access into the home.
Protected the Attic Fans
We also installed an attic fan cover over each of the attic and static vents. This material is made of heavy-duty 18 Gauge expanded Galvannealed steel mesh and will prevent raccoons as well as all nuisance wildlife from gaining access into the home.
Excluded and Protected
Now the home is properly protected from all nuisance wildlife!
