Photo Album: Windows Badly Damaged by Carpenter Bees in Hightstown, NJ
This home in Hightstown, NJ had a severe carpenter bee issue.
Carpenter Bees by the Window
I began my inspection and immediately noticed an active carpenter bee infestation by a set of windows. In total, there were 15 drill holes in the siding of the home!
Drill Holes by Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are wood-destroying pests that bore 1/2 inch circular holes in wooden structures to create galleries (nests). The easiest way to locate these holes is to look for the yellow stains they leave behind...
Or the Frass
... or the buildup of sawdust or "frass" underneath their galleries.
Carpenter Bee Treatment
I injected a residual dusting application directly into each drill hole. As the carpenter bees enter and exit their galleries, they'll come in contact with this treatment and are rapidly eliminated. Additionally, the residual will prevent future carpenter bee infestations.
