Photo Album: Weak Spot in Roof is an Easy Target for Raccoons in Brick, NJ
Raccoons had exploited the weakness in this water damaged roof in Brick, NJ.
Severely Damaged
As you can see, the raccoon severely damaged the soffit area. The homeowner knew about the leak in his roof and was planning on getting it fixed, but the raccoon had other plans.
Setting Up
We placed several baited traps nearby and installed a one-way over the main access point. The one-way allows the raccoon to safely exit the area but is designed to prevent it from getting back in.
Retrieved and Replaced
A short while later, we safely retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a new humane environment. The homeowner now was able to call a contractor to repair the water leak and we replaced the soffit!
Disinfected First
We disinfected the area first and then installed sturdy metal flashing over the entire soffit area. We also installed a vent guard cover over all the attic fans and the static vents.
Soffit Area Protected
Now the homeowner will no longer have any issues with raccoons or nuisance wildlife!
