Photo Album: Yard Destroyed by Digger Bees in Middletown, NJ
This homeowner decided to go outside on a nice, warm day to relax, only to discover that she had a massive digger bee infestation!
The Front, Back, and Side Yard
As soon as I arrived at the home, I immediately saw the damage done to the yard by the digger bees. They were all over the front, side, and back yard.
Also Known As Ground Bees
Digger bees, also called ground bees, are solitary, non-social wasps and each hole is a separate, independent nest of digger bees. The females dig these half-inch to one-inch deep burrows to nest and raise young.
How To Tell if You Have Digger Bees
A key indication of a digger bee infestation is the multiple pencil-sized dirt mounds across a lawn.
Soak the Digger Bees
For treatment, I soaked each digger bee mound with a liquid residual. This application eliminates the digger bees almost immediately.
