Photo Album: Turkey Vultures Get a Shocking Surprise in Freehold, NJ
A business owner in Freehold, NJ was sick and tired of turkey vultures defecating and destroying his roof, so he called Cowleys Bird Removal division and we were sent out.
Roosting on the Edge
The turkey vultures were roosting on the perimeter ledge as well as on the exhaust fans. Their droppings and roosting patterns were causing extensive damage to the roof.
Dadi Long Legs
First, we installed Dadi longs on all the exhaust fans. What the Dadi Long Legs do is startle the turkey vultures and prevent them from roosting on the roof. This is considered a physical barrier deterrent, which is the most effective long-term solution and most importantly, doesn't harm the turkey vultures.
Shocking the Edge
We then installed shock trap along outside and inside of the perimeter of the roof.
What is Shock Track
Shock track is a low-profile ledge deterrent system that is effective against all species of nuisance birds and utilizes the principle of fear and flight.
Doesn't Harm Them
The unique electrically charged tracks impart a mild electrical shock when the turkey vultures land on them. The shock will not harm them but will condition them to avoid the area.
No Longer An Issue
Now the business owner will no longer have any issues with turkey vultures roosting on his roof and damaging his property.
