Photo Album: Storage Room Infested with Indian Meal Moths in Farmingdale, NJ
Recently, we treated a business in Farmingdale, NJ for Indian meal moths.
Flying Around the Lights
As soon as we turned on the lights, we saw several "flying insects" hovering near the lights and resting on the ceiling. A closer examination revealed that these were Indian meal moths.
Also Called Pantry Pests
Also known as pantry pests, Indian meal moths are the most common pests to infest pantries and food storage facilities. The key to solving this issue, is finding the infested products and discarding them.
Inventory Loss
There were several packages that had Indian meal moth larvae in them. We had no choice but to discard them, which costed the owner a considerable amount of money and a shortage on inventory.
Our Pheromone Devices
After discarding all the infested inventory, we installed several pheromone traps to catch the adults that were on the ceiling.
Lure Them
These devices have a unique pheromone in them that lures the Indian meal moths to their doom.
Exterminating the Indian Meal Moths
We scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the devices and replace them until the Indian meal moths are exterminated.
