Photo Album: Bathroom Exhaust Vent Has Birds in Hamilton Township, NJ
Recently, we were sent out to a home in Hamilton Township, NJ to handle a bird issue.
Bathroom Exhaust Vent
The tenant mentioned that she kept hearing birds chirping in her bathroom. After a detailed inspection, we found their nesting area.
Unsanitary
You can see their droppings underneath the bathroom exhaust vent.
Customized One-Way
To safely remove the birds, we customized a one-way device and are going to install it over the bathroom exhaust vent. The bird can push this flap open when it exits, however, because the flap is weighted, they'll be unable to reenter the vent. The best part of this device is that, if there are young birds inside, the adult female will still be able to feed them through the flap, until they leave.
Closed Off
We closed off the inactive vent with a bird guard and installed the one-way. Once all the birds have left the bathroom exhaust vent, we will remove any nesting debris inside, disinfect the area, and then install another bird guard over the active bathroom exhaust vent.
