Photo Album: Flying Ants in Office Space in Wall, NJ
Recently, we were sent out on a service call for a new commercial client in Wall, NJ who was experiencing an ant issue in his office.
The Corner of the Office
During our inspection, we noticed that the ants were emerging from the corner of one of the main offices. Upon closer inspection, we identified them as flying pavement ants.
More in the Utility Room
We also found more ants in the utility room. Flying pavement ants are reproductive ants whose sole purpose is to fly from an overcrowded ant colony to start a new colony of ants in a different location. These ants mate and drop their double pair of wings.
Sharing a Wall
We discovered the utility room was sharing the wall on the rear of the main office. There was sand being pushed through the cement slab where the ants were entering the office on the other side of the wall.
Effective Ant Treatment
We treated along the baseboards on both sides of the wall and the exterior perimeter of the building with a non-repellent residual product that the pavement ants will transfer throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the ants are exterminated and the building will be ant-free!
