While treating a residence at an elderly facility in Skillman, NJ, I found a cluster of Spotted Lantern Flies on a tree in front of their home.

While I was treating the exterior of the building I found a massive infestation of Spotted Lanternflies!

They were harboring on this tree and even laying eggs.

Originally indigenous to Japan and Vietnam, Spotted Lanternflies have spread to the United States, more alarmingly to our neighboring state of Pennsylvania, and now New Jersey.
The Ooze
These insects secrete an ooze that creates a blackish mold that damages 80 species of plant life and trees. The NJ Department of Agriculture is currently battling the population of this highly invasive insect.
All the Spotted Lanternflies Fault
Due to the overwhelming numbers and the severity of damage, the property manager had no choice but to cut down every tree on his property in order to combat the Spotted Lanternflies!
