Photo Album: Basement Full of Spiders in Freehold, NJ
A Home Protection Plan customer in Freehold, NJ was having issues with spiders in her basement.
Webs in the Basement
I noticed numerous spider webs throughout the basement.
Cellar Spiders
The webs were created by common cellar spiders, which have extremely long legs in relation to their body size. The spiders are usually found in dry basements and the cobwebs they create can be annoying when passing through a basement.
Brush Away the Webs
I grabbed my broom and started to brush away all the spider webs.
Here's What That Does
This eliminates their food source and, after a little while, the spiders will get annoyed and leave the area.
There Was a Lot
As you can see, there were a lot of spiders webs.
Protected From Spiders
Lastly, I treated the entire exterior and the perimeter of the basement along the French drain, the sill plate at the top, and around the basement windows with a residual product that specifically targets spiders.
