Photo Album: Fence Provides Easy Transportation for Ants in Freehold, NJ
A new customer in Freehold, NJ called our office to let us know that she had seen ants in her backyard for the last few days and wanted us to come out and eliminate them before they infest her house. We were happy to oblige.
Along the Fence
When I began inspecting, I found a large trail of ants along the fence rails and decided to follow them.
Bingo!
I followed their trail, which started out very small, to a very large colony in the ground not far from the home.
Easy Transportation
Turns out, the fence rails were acting like a highway for the ants to easily travel from their nest to a food and water source.
Treat the Ant Trails
I treated the ant trails with a liquid application and applied a granular bait along the landscape beds and around their main nest.
Transfer Effect
The ants will come in contact with either of these treatments, bring them back to their nest, and share it with another (this is known as the transfer effect). Soon, the entire colony will be exterminated.
