Photo Album: Transforming A Homeowners Crawl Space in Eatontown, NJ
A homeowner in Eatontown, NJ wanted to turn his crawl space into a space for extra storage but had a small issue — the crawl space had a dirt floor and it was humid.
Right to Work
Since the homeowner already removed all the debris and leveled the crawl space, we went right to work. First, we installed a dimpled drainage matting and then installed a vapor barrier.
The Mat and the Vapor Barrier
The plastic mat allows all excess moisture to work its way over to the sump pump while the vapor barrier is a 20-mil 7-ply sandwich of high and low-density polyethylene that is treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth.
The Walls and the Dehumidifier
We installed SilverGlo™, which is a waterproof foam insulation that seals the walls from outside moisture and humidity, to the walls of the crawl space and added a Sedona dehumidifier.
The Sedona
A Sedona dehumidifier is a powerful, energy-efficient, commercial-grade dehumidifier that outperforms standard household dehumidifiers by as much as 10 times while using the same amount of energy to run.
Better Than Before
Now the homeowner has a transformed crawl space that is perfect for storage!
