We were sent out to start a new Home Protection Plan Gold service for a customer in Freehold, NJ that was being plagued by cicada killer wasps.
Mounds Throughout the Yard
It was quite easy to locate the Cicada killer mounds, as they were all over the backyard!
Don't Be Intimated By Their Size
The female cicada killer burrows into the soil, preferring loose, sandy soil found along sidewalks and mulch beds, to create a chamber to lay her eggs. The male dies after mating while the female dies after tending to her larvae. The larvae build a cocoon and overwinter to the following summer season when they emerge to start the cycle over again.
Directly Treating the Mounds
To exterminate the cicada killers, I injected a residual dust directly into each burrow.
Cicada Killers Neutralized
This product rapidly eliminates the adult cicada killers, their eggs, and the larvae inside the chamber.
