Photo Album: Family Tree Full of Carpenter Ants in Old Bridge Township, NJ
This homeowner in Old Bridge Township, NJ kept seeing carpenter ants throughout his bedroom and had no idea where they were coming from.
Check the Tree
After finding the carpenter ants in the main bedroom, I began following their trail to the window in the bathroom. I noticed there was a large tree bordering the home, so I decided to investigate and sure enough, I found a plethora of carpenter ants all over the tree.
Hiking up the Branches
Turns out the carpenter ants were trailing all the way up the tree and using the overhanging branches to enter the home. I advised the homeowner to trim away all the overhanging branches, to which he obliged.
Eliminating the Carpenter Ants
I applied a granular bait around the base of the tree and applied a non-repellant residual along the entire exterior of the home, the main bedroom and bathroom, and the two adjacent rooms. The carpenter ants will come in contact with either of these products and share them among one another. Shortly after, the entire colony is exterminated.
