Photo Album: Front Yard Covered in Digger Bees in Manalapan, NJ
As I was treating one of our Home Protection Plan customers home in Manalapan, NJ, I discovered a massive infestation of digger bees in the front yard.
Treating the Side When...
As I was treating the front side of the home I noticed these pencil sized dirt mounds. Upon a closer inspection, I identified them as digger bee mounds.
Are Digger Bees Dangerous
Digger bees are solitary bees, meaning that each mound is its own separate colony, that nest underground typically where grass is sparse and shade is available. They generally don't sting unless they're threatened. Digger bees aren't aggressive and won't attack like wasps or yellow jackets tend to do.
Yard Looks Horrible
The major downside of a digger bee infestation is that your yard looks terrible.
Extermination Process
I soaked each dirt mounds with a liquid residual. This product rapidly eliminates the digger bees.
