Photo Album: Carpenter Ants Crawling by the Cabana in Red Bank, NJ
After living in her new home for over 8 months, this homeowner in Red Bank, NJ decided it was time to lounge out in her backyard cabana. Unfortunately, to her shock, it was infested with carpenter ants.
Carpenter Ants Here
I inspected the entire backyard and found a trail of carpenter ants over by the bar...
Here Too
And over by the patio! Carpenter ants excavate the wood and form smooth tunnels inside of the wood. If left untreated, severe property damage can occur.
Time for the Residual
I applied a liquid residual along the entire perimeter of the house, the patio and bar area, and in the landscape and mulch bed.
The Granular Bait
I then carefully placed granular bait in the crevices between the deck and patio, and all along the landscape and mulch bed. As soon as the carpenter ants come in contact with either of these products, they'll bring it back to their nest to share with their queen and the other ants in the colony. Shortly after, the carpenter ants are exterminated.
