A condo association in Belmar, NJ called Cowleys to help them assess and treat for a carpenter bee issue along the roofline of one of their condos.
How To Easily Spot Carpenter Bees
Beginning my inspection, I immediately located the carpenter bee activity all along the fascia board. One of the signs that indicate you have carpenter bees and where their nests are located is the yellow-brown fecal stains on the side of your home.
Wood Destroying Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are wood destroying pests that drill perfectly, circular 1/2 inch holes inside the wood to create their galleries (nests).
Difference Between Male & Female Carpenter Bees
Female carpenter bees bore into the wood, create the galleries, and lay the eggs while the male carpenter bee protects the nest from any threats. The male carpenter bee may be threatening, but they actually cannot sting. The females can, but only if provoked.
Exterminating the Carpenter Bees
I reached behind the facia board and inspected for carpenter bee galleries. Each gallery that I found was treated with a residual dust application.
Exterminated Fast
This treatment rapidly exterminates the carpenter bees and their eggs inside the gallery as well as other carpenter bees that return to the gallery.
