Photo Album: Homeowners Basement Renovations are Delayed Because of Citronella Ants in Toms River, NJ
These homeowners in Toms River, NJ were finally renovating the basement area of their home. Unfortunately, a massive infestation of citronella ants prevented them from doing so.
Quite an Infestation
We inspecting the area and came across a massive amount of citronella ants and swarmers nesting around a pipe at the rear of the home against the foundation wall.
How to Identify Citronella Ants
Citronella Ants can be identified by their yellowish-orange color and by a strong citronella odor that they emit when crushed or startled.
Cowleys Treatment for Citronella Ants
We applied a liquid, non-repellent residual around the interior perimeter of the basement and also around the exterior perimeters of the home. The citronella ants are going to bring this treatment back to their nest and transfer it among the entire colony, ensuring rapid elimination.
Safe to Resume Renovations
We'll return for a follow up visit to make sure that the citronella ants are gone for good. In no time at all, the homeowners will be able to resume their renovations.
