Photo Album: Mouse Cooking Up a Storm in Brick, NJ
A homeowner in Brick, NJ was startled when she saw a mouse running across her kitchen! Frightened, she called Cowleys and I was sent out to investigate.
Pulled Back Oven
As soon as I arrived, the first thing I inspected was underneath and behind the stove. Sure enough, I found a large amount of mice droppings.
Chew Out Hole
There was a decent sized, chewed out hole behind the oven. Apparently, the mice utilized the tiny gap by the gas line, made it bigger, and entered the home.
Vacuum the Droppings
After completing my inspection, I vacuumed up the droppings and sanitized the area. Mouse droppings carry a plethora of diseases, Hantavirus being the most infamous, and must be handled carefully.
Clean the Oven
I also cleaned out the mouse droppings in the oven. I also installed several Ready-to-Use rodent bait stations in the kitchen, the crawl space and along the exterior of the home alone the gas line.
Cleaned and Baited
After vacuuming I sealed up the hole with steel mesh, metal flashing and sealed it with a chew proof, premium adhesive. I'll return for a follow up visit to replenish the bait and monitor the infestation.
