Photo Album: High Level Bed Bug Infestation in Asbury Park, NJ
When one of the apartment buildings that we service in Asbury Park, NJ discovered that they had a bed bug issue, they immediately called us for help.
Bed Bugs Turn Dark
After a bed bug eats it turns a dark, blackish color, which makes seeing them difficult. This is why we use a commercial grade flashlight for bed bug inspections. Once we flipped the mattress over, we found a happily fed family of bed bugs.
As Soon As We Find Bed Bugs
As soon as we find bed bugs, we use our vacuum to immediately remove them from the area. By removing the bed bugs with the vacuum, we are immediately ridding the area of potential egg layers.
Found Even More In...
Continuing our inspection, we found even more bed bugs in a wall outlet behind the bed. Bed bugs love to nest behind the outlet and light switch covers, because it's dark and they can feel pressure on both sides of their body.
More in the Guest-room
We inspected the guest room, which was next to the main bedroom, and found even more bed bugs in that mattress, so we grabbed our vacuum and removed them.
Dusted Them Out
We then, with permission of the tenant, carefully removed both the mattresses and properly disposed of them. Afterwards, we treated all the wall outlets with a dusting application that eliminates the bed bugs almost immediately.
Liquid Residual
Lastly, we applied a liquid residual to all the harborage areas throughout the apartment. Since this is what we would call a high-level infestation, we will return for a follow up visit, in which we will monitor the infestation as well as repeat the process all over again.
