Photo Album: Ants Enjoying Some Deli Meat in Eatontown, NJ
A new commercial client of Cowleys in Eatontown, NJ recently contacted our office fed up with all the ants infesting his kitchen and wanted us to come out and eliminate them.
Meat Slicer
As I began inspecting the kitchen, I found a few ants on a meat slicer.
Attracted to Meat
They were attracted to food crumbs that were all over the meat slicer. Ants enter buildings in search of two things: food and water.
Followed Their Trail
I followed their trail to a nearby window and saw that they were squeezing through a tiny gap.
Yeah, That'll Do It
I went outside to inspect and discovered that the molding around the window was damaged and had gaps in them.
Sealed the Gap
I cleaned the area and then sealed the gap on the interior and exterior of all the windows in the kitchen with a premium, water-proof adhesive.
Bait & Spray Them
Next, I applied an ant gel bait in the kitchen and a liquid non-repellant and a granular bait along the exterior perimeter of the building.
Soon, No More Ants
When the ants come in contact with any of these products they'll transfer among one another in their colony. Shortly after they are eliminated. I advised the owner to sanitize his kitchen equipment on a regular basis to avoid future pest infestations.
