Photo Album: Unprotected Attic Fan A Welcome Site for Squirrels in Englishtown, NJ
After spotting a squirrel running around their attic, this homeowner in Englishtown, NJ called Cowleys Nuisance Wildlife Division for help.
Unprotected Attic Fan
As we inspected the roof, we noticed the attic fan wasn't properly sealed off. I took a closer look and found squirrel hair. This was how the squirrels were gaining access into the home.
Put Up the One-Way
After finding the entry point, we placed a one-way device over the top of the attic fan cover. The one-way allows the squirrels to safely exit the attic, but prevent them from getting back in.
Sealed and Baited
We also placed several baited traps nearby. By sealing of the attic fan cover, we are forcing the squirrels to exit through the one-way, ensuring an effective and safe trapping method.
All Caught Up
After all the squirrels were safely caught and relocated to a new, human location, we sanitized and deodorized the attic area and then installed a permanent attic fan cover.
Heavy Duty
The new attic fan cover is made out of stainless steel mesh and prevents squirrels as well as any other nuisance wildlife from entering the home through the attic fan.
