Photo Album: Stink Bugs Exterminated in Wanamassa, NJ
From the Living Room and Up
I began my inspection and discovered a large quantity of stink bugs flying around the living room, a second floor bedroom, and the attic.
How They Get In
The window screen in the second floor bedroom was torn and had several large holes in it. Stink bugs are able to enter homes through attic fan vents, chimneys, window air conditioner units, and through tiny gaps in windows and window screens.
Another Gap
There was also a window sill that had a gap in it on the first floor and an attic fan vent that was broken and exposed. I advised the homeowner that in order to prevent stink bug and other pest infestations he will need to repair the window, the screen, and the attic fan vent. He agreed and immediately began the repairs.
Fly Light in the Attic
While the homeowner was conducting the repairs, I installed a fly light up in the attic. The ULV bulbs attract the stink bugs to the light and when they get close to the fly light, they are caught in a glue board that is attached.
Now for the Exterior
Along the exterior, I treated around the door frames and window frames with a residual application. When the stink bugs land on the treated surfaces they will come in contact with the application and be eliminated. I'll return on a follow-up visit to monitor the infestation to make sure that all the stink bugs are neutralized.
