Photo Album: Cowleys Raccoon Removal & Exclusion in Spring Lake, NJ
A new customer in Spring Lake, NJ called our office concerned after hearing heavy footsteps in her attic at night. I had a strong suspicion it was raccoons, but I needed to inspect the home to confirm my suspicions.
Well, That's Obvious
I began inspecting the attic and rooftop and discovered that one of the static vent covers was completely ripped off. As I took a closer look, I found raccoon hair in the vent, confirming my suspicions.
Opportunist Critters, Aren't They
Raccoons will always use the path of least resistance and if there is an easy way for the raccoon to enter the home, such as broken or exposed attic and static vents, it'll take it!
Solution is Simple
After confirming the main access point, I installed a static vent cover and placed a one-way device over it. The one-way allows the raccoon to safely exit but prevents it from re-entering.
Sturdy
These attic & static vents are heavy duty, 18 gauge expanded 304 stainless steel mesh. This not only prevents raccoons and other nuisance wildlife from entering a home, but is also maintenance free and won't rust or corrode.
Cowleys Exclusion
I made sure to cover every vent. Once the raccoon is removed from the attic, our Attic Systems team will deodorize and sanitize the attic and replace the contaminated insulation with new TruSoft cellulose insulation.
