A new Home Protection Plan client of ours in Brick, NJ was having an ant problem.
Following the Trail
After spotting a few ants in the living room, I followed their trail to giant rock about 30 feet from the home. Once I flipped it over, I was greeted by thousands of ants!
Forage Far for Food
Ants can forage hundreds of feet from their colony to a food source. They follow a pheromone trail which directs them from their nest to the food or water source.
Cowleys Treatment
I applied some granular bait around their colony and then treated the exterior perimeter of the home with a liquid non-repellant. I also applied an ant gel bait in the living room.
Here What Those Treatments Do
The ants are going to come in contact with any one of these treatments and then bring it back to their colony. Then, they share it with the other ants, including their queen. Soon, the entire colony is eliminated.
