Photo Album: Abandoned Drinks and Dirty Sinks Attracts Drain Flies in Mantoloking, NJ
This restaurant manager in Mantoloking, NJ called our office complaining of a "massive amount flies in his sink room."
Flies on the Wall
When we inspected the sink room, we found dozens of drain flies all over the wall. Drain flies are only about 1/8th of an inch and breed in the accumulated gunk inside a drain.
This Was the Cause
Nearby was a slop sink filled with discarded food and liquids that was leftover from the previous shift.
Drain Flies Taking a Sip
We continued inspecting the rest of the restaurant and noticed a discarded can full on juice on the bar. We looked closer and found a bunch of drain flies inside.
Improper Sanitation will Cause Pest Problems
We reported these issues to the manager and informed him of a few simple sanitation procedures that'll prevent drain flies and other troublesome pests, like mice and rats, from infesting his business.
Time for Cowleys to Treat
We scrubbed all the gunk out of the drains in the sink room and the bar area and then treated the drains with a liquid application, which will remove the bad bacteria that the drain flies breed in.
Treated
Lastly, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the build-up, odors, and scum in the drains to not only eliminate any remaining drain flies, but prevent future intrusions from drain flies and other pests.
