Photo Album: Mice Leaving Little Gifts in Homeowners Basement
A new client of Cowleys based in Eatontown, NJ was experiencing an issue with mice leaving tiny little "presents" all over his basement.
Rusted & Broken
When I began inspecting the basement, I noticed a window vent that was broken and the metal screen was so rusted that if you just lightly touched it, it would fall apart. This was one way the mice were entering the basement.
Found the Presents
As I examined the concrete by the sill plate I found a large amount of mice droppings, which carry a plethora of diseases - most notoriously the Hantavirus.
Nice Little Highway
During my inspection, I noticed that the ducts went all the way up to the attic.
Tunnels in the Insulation
I inspected the attic and found several mice tunnels in the insulation.
Nice Little Highway
Turns out, the mice where using these ducts to travel all the way up to the attic!
The Solution
I installed six Ready-to-Use rodent bait stations in the basement and two in the attic.
Fix, Remove, & Clean
Once all the mice are removed from the home, I'll fix the window vent and seal it up properly as well as clean and sanitize the attic and basement.
