Photo Album: Two Floors of Cockroaches in Jackson, NJ
Here for One Reason But Found Another
Originally, we were sent out to treat for mice and replace the ready-to-use (RTU) rodent bait stations that were installed by a previous pest control company that the landlord was not happy with. Once we found the RTU we were greeted by a massive German cockroach infestation.
It's Outta Here
The cockroaches were all over the exterior and the interior of the RTU. We discarded and replaced the RTU and continued our inspection.
Inside the Living Room
Once we entered the living room, we found German cockroaches swarming in the corner of the room. The property manager was renovating the condo and knew he had a cockroach problem, but didn't understand the severity of it.
Lazy Cockroaches in Lazy Susan
Continuing our inspection to the kitchen, we found more cockroaches in the Lazy Susan. The property manager mentioned that he was self-treating the infestation with store-bought products.
They Don't Work
When homeowners use store-bought products to treat for pests, they do not take into consideration that each of pest needs to be treated differently. If the wrong application is used on the wrong pest, the infestation will get worse, which is exactly what happened in this situation!
On the 2nd Floor
As we inspected the 2nd-floor bedrooms, guess what? We found MORE cockroaches in every single bedroom!
Special Suit
Since this infestation is quite severe, we need to treat the entire home. First, we need to equip our personal protection equipment.
Growth Regulator
First, we applied an EPA registered growth regulator that affects the cockroaches reproduction throughout the entire building. Next, we sprayed a oil-based product into every crevice to chase the cockroaches into the growth regulator. Lastly, we treated all the harborage areas with a gel bait and placed glue monitor traps. We will return in two-weeks to monitor the infestation and determine if additional treatment is needed.
