Photo Album: Pest Control in Lawrence Township, NJ
One of our property managers in Lawrence Township, NJ received a complaint from one of his tenants who was having an issue with squirrels.
How Do They Get It
The other day, the tenant saw a few squirrels run into his attic. Squirrels can easily enter the attic through the rooftop and the fascia board. If there is an opening that is too small, they have no problem chewing the area for a wider entry point.
In the Pork Chop
After inspecting the roof, we found the main access point in the pork chop eave return. We temporarily sealed up the area with a hardware cloth. The squirrels will have no other way to exit except through the one-way.
A One-Way?
The one-way is a device that allows the squirrels to safely leave the attic but is designed to prevent them from getting back in. We placed tape on the back of the device as a monitoring tool, that way we know if the squirrels have left.
Traps Nearby
We placed several baited traps nearby to entice the squirrels. Once all the squirrels have been removed, we will safely relocate them to a new, humane environment, sanitize the attic and then properly seal up the pork chop eave with metal flashing.
