Photo Album: Exposed Gap an Invitation for Mice in Toms River, NJ
I just recently did a treatment and exclusion for mice at a home in Toms River, NJ.
A Nice Gap
After a thorough inspection of the exterior, I found that the mice were entering through a gap in the air conditioning line that went through the siding. The Hercules putty had worn out and left a space for the mice to easily get in.
Checking Around the Home
I sealed up the opening and checked the exterior for more possible entry points. Sure enough, there were a few gaps around the foundation that were just the right size for mice to enter.
Copper and Sealed
I placed copper mesh into each gap and then sealed the openings.
Inside the Home
Inside, I checked behind the stove and found a gas pipe going through the wall that needed to be sealed. I then placed several rodent bait stations in the kitchen and attic to eradicate the mice remaining in the unit. I set up a two week follow up to ensure that the unit was mice free.
