Photo Album: Carpenter Ants Love Wet Wood in Howell, NJ
A new homeowner in Howell, NJ recently purchased their house and wanted to redo their front porch area. When they began renovating the old porch, they found what appeared to be water damage but they really wanted a second opinion, so they called Cowleys to inspect.
Thoroughly Inspect
We began inspecting the porch area and realized, that the new homeowners had a carpenter ant infestation.
They Love it
Carpenter ants do not eat wood, they only tunnel and chew through wood to create nests. They LOVE to nest in wet wood. Even if it was wet 20 years ago and the wood had become compromised, carpenter ants can easily pull it apart and begin nesting.
All Over
We decided that a non-repellant liquid treatment around the interior and exterior of the property as well as around the surrounding shrubbery will eliminate the carpenter ants for good.
The Products Do This
The non-repellent products allow the carpenter ants to transport the material that they come in contact with amongst their colony. Carpenter ants feed and groom each other and even eat their own dead. When they do any of these things they will transport the product from one to another ensuring a full colony elimination.
