Photo Album: Goodbye Tennant, Hello Bed Bugs in Neptune, NJ
A landlord in Neptune, NJ was shocked by what his tenant left behind when he unexpectedly moved out without any notice.
Left Behind Their Friends
The landlord went to collect the rent but found a note on the counter next to the keys that said, "We're out of here, sorry for the mess." When the landlord walked around the apartment he found a bed bug infestation like never before.
Called Cowleys for Help
The landlord picked up the phone and immediately called Cowleys. After a thorough inspection, we gave the landlord a few treatment options. Option one was a heat treatment where a huge heating system is brought into the house, along with a bunch of fans to turn the house into what he described as a convection oven. The temperatures get up to roughly 140° which will absolutely kill any living insects that the heat comes in contact with. Option number two was a liquid treatment where we will come in and vacuum all of the live activity up, inject a residual dust into all of the wall voids, and perform a liquid application to all of the crack and crevice areas around the home.
Option 1 Please
The landlord chose to go with the heat treatment because it would penetrate all of the wall voids as well as kill anything that may be hiding deep behind the sheet rock. This process maybe slightly more expensive but in the end will yield the best results for this particular property. All of the possessions will be moved out of the home, discarded into a dumpster, and taken to a landfill as far away from humans as possible.
Here Comes the Heat
A liquid application will be applied prior to the heat treatment to quickly knockdown the activity in the house. The heaters and fans will be brought in to spread the heat throughout the home and penetrate the walls. When this is complete we will return to perform another liquid application as a preventative measure.
