Photo Album: German Cockroaches in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
While performing an inspection for an apartment complex in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ we came across a heavy-duty infestation of German cockroaches.
Right by the Sink
We began inspecting the kitchen and immediately found German cockroaches by the sink. German cockroaches prefer to live near food and moisture sources, so right by a sink is the perfect place for them to live.
Possible Larger Infestation
German cockroaches prefer to live and feed in the dark, so the fact that we were seeing them during the day right by the sink area leads us to believe that there is a much larger infestation nearby. If not treated immediately, the cockroaches will spread and infest the entire apartment complex!
Now for Treatment
We applied an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR), to control the cockroaches rapid reproduction rate, around the affected areas. This knocks down the population to a more manageable level. Next, we applied a non-repellent residual application that forms a barrier to prevent the cockroaches to spread and infest other areas.
Cockroach Chaos
Finally, we applied another aerosol application to all the voids and cracks throughout the entire apartment. This will flush out all of the cockroaches into the growth regulator that was sprayed earlier.
We scheduled a follow-up inspection to set up glue trap monitors to determine if any more harborage areas exist. In a short amount of time, the cockroaches will be neutralized.
