Photo Album: Beginning of a Yellow Jacket Nest in Freehold, NJ
On the Soffit
I found a yellow jackets nest under the soffit above the front window of the home I was servicing. When we're performing our routine maintenance we always conduct a thorough inspection of the home in order to discover any additional pests.
In Its Early Stages
I noticed that the nest was still in its early stages and had multiple unhatched eggs inside. Those eggs can hatch at any moment and soon the home could be overrun with these aggressive insects. It's imperative that we remove it as quickly as possible.
Remove It
I grabbed my extension pole, equipped an aerosol application to it and sprayed the nest. After a few minutes I removed the nest and properly disposed of it.
All Along the Soffit
I also applied a light residual application along the soffit area to prevent any additional yellow jackets from setting up shop. The last thing we need are yellow jackets trying to make a home in a customer's attic over the winter.
