Photo Album: Treatment for Multiple Bald-Faced Hornets Nests in Howell, NJ
A homeowner in Howell, NJ called our office complaining of not just one, but TWO bald-faced hornet's nest on her property.
Suit Up First
First, beginning any inspection regarding stinging insects, we need to equip our protective bee suit.
Here's One
Then we began our inspection and found one of the nests under the roof peak.
And Two
The other bald-faced hornet's nest was in a tree on the front yard. Both of the nests were about the size of a basketball, meaning that there is a large number of angry stinging insects inside. The utmost care is needed to properly treat the nests.
First Treat the Roof Nest
The first thing we did was treat the nest under the peak. Using our extendable pole we equipped an aerosol application to it and injected the application directly into the entry-exit hole in the nest. This application paralyzes and neutralizes the bald-faced hornet's on contact. We then used another extendable pole with a putty knife attached to it and scraped the nest off the siding. We then properly disposed of the roof nest.
Removed and Disposed Off
We then treated the nest on the front yard using the same aerosol application. We then removed both the nest and the branches it was attached to and properly disposed of them.
