Photo Album: Customer Comes Face-Face with Hornets While Cleaning Her Yard in Eatontown, NJ
A client in Eatontown, NJ frantically called our office after discovering a bald-faced hornet's nest as she was cleaning up her yard!
Tucked Away
As we were inspecting the area we found the hornet's nest that was well hidden in a nearby bush. When built into trees, these nests can be as high as 60 feet above the ground and become almost invisible.
Warm Welcome
As we took a closer look, we received a warm welcome from several angry bald-faced hornets.
Come Close and Get Stung
Bald-faced hornets will attack anyone or anything that invades their space, unlike other stinging insects that may only sting when they feel extremely threatened. They are easily agitated by outside noises and are sensitive to vibrations, which often travel through the air.
Time for the Treatment
We treated the nest with an aerosol application that paralyzes and eliminates the bald-faced hornets almost immediately. Due to the large size of the nest, it took some time before all the hornets were neutralized. Once it was safe we removed the nest.
Dusted Away
After the nest was taken down and properly disposed off we cleaned up the area and applied a dusting agent to the area where the nest used to be to help with the returning hornet. The returning hornets will come in contact with this treatment, groom themselves, and in no time all, be eliminated.
