Photo Album: Large Bald-Faced Hornets Nest in Freehold, NJ is No Match for Cowleys
We were sent out on a service call for a homeowner in Freehold, NJ who reported a large hornet's nest on her property.
Camouflaged
After equipping my protective bee suit, I inspected the property and actually heard the hornets nearby. After a few moments, I spotted the nest in a tree.
They Were Bald-Faced Hornets
A closer look told me that these aggressive insects were bald-faced hornets.
Take Them Down
I equipped an aerosol application to my extendable pole and treated the outside and inside of the nest. The application paralyzes and eliminates the bald-faced hornets on contact.
Off the Property
Once the hornets were gone, I removed the branch the nest was attached to and the nest, properly disposed of both of them, and applied a residual application to the tree to prevent any returning hornets from setting up another nest.
