Heavy Infestation
Upon inspection, I discovered a heavy activity of yellow jackets near the soffit area. As I took a closer look I found their nest.
Fun Facts About Yellowjackets
Yellowjackets get their name from their typical black and yellow color pattern banded across their abdomens. Yellowjackets are normally very slow to sting, but they are also very territorial. If the entrance to their nest is approached, they will become very aggressive and can sting multiple times.
Flush Them Out
First, I equipped my protective bee suit and then applied an aerosol flusher underneath the soffit area that quickly eliminates the yellow jackets. After that, I applied a dust application to the soffit area.
Removal of the Nest
After a few minutes, I removed the nest, properly disposed of it, and applied a residual application to the area to prevent future yellowjacket infestations.
