A Lot of Guano in Fair Haven, NJ
Beginning our inspection, we found a buildup of guano on the side of the building.
Watch out for Histoplasmosis with Cowleys!
Bat guano is particularly dangerous because it contains histoplasmosis. Bats become infected with histoplasmosis, and their feces contain the histoplasma capsulatum fungus. This fungus grows in the droppings themselves and once the droppings are disturbed the spores are then airborne. When we breathe that air, we then become infected with histoplasmosis.

Batty House Guests in Fair Haven
As we took a closer look, we found the bats!
Temporary Seal by Cowleys Pest Services
Until all the bats are removed from the attic we used 2-inch foam sections to fill in the larger gaps between the fascia and side of the home as a temporary solution. Other areas where the gap was smaller, we used expandable foam to seal off the voids.
Bat Cone in Fair Haven, NJ
Three one-way cones were installed to allow the bats to leave overnight. A one-way cone is designed to allow the bats to safely leave the attic, but prevent them from returning. Once all the bats are safely removed from the attic we will return to remove the cones, carefully cleanup the bat droppings and sanitize the areas, and seal up all the gaps and entry points permanently.
