Photo Album: Pavement Ants In the Wall in Manalapan, NJ
A resident in Manalapan, NJ was having an issue with ant all over the exterior of her home. I was sent out to investigate and treat.
Heavy Ant Trailing
When I arrived and spoke with the homeowner, I noticed moderate to heavy trailing of pavement ants along the base of the exterior. Pavement ants are tiny ants, about 1/8 to 1/16 in size and are known for nesting in pavement (hence the name pavement ants).
All the Way into the Boiler Room
As I investigated, I discovered the pavement ants trailing to a hole in the wall. I inspected inside the home and found the ants in the boiler room. They were entering the home through this opening.
Treating Time
I treated the entire exterior of the property with a liquid residual application. I also went inside the home and applied a liquid application and an ant gel bait in the boiler room.
What the Treatment Does
Once the pavements come in contact with any of these treatments, they will carry back to their colony and share it with the queen and the other ants in the colony through grooming and/or feeding. In a short amount of time, the entire colony is eliminated.
