Photo Album: Bald-Faced Hornets Greet Guests in Jackson, NJ
A very concerned homeowner in Jackson, NJ had called Cowleys to have a hornet's nest removed that was hanging within 10 feet of her front door. Someone had already been stung walking into their home and she was horrified that it could possibly happen again. Her first thought was to call Cowleys, the same company who had previously rid her home of ants.
Just Like The Homeowner Said
When I arrived I located the hornet's nest which was in fact about 10 feet away from her front door. I decided that the best course of action would be to fog the nest and remove it immediately so that the threat would be gone.
The Execution
I took my extension pole and attached an aerosol application to the end. I lined up the straw with the opening of the nest and released the fog. The fog covered all of the nest and hornets began falling to the ground.
The Nest Step
I waited roughly 5 minutes for the remaining hornets to be neutralized and then I removed the nest from the tree. I attached a straight edge blade to the end of my people and cut the nest loose from the tree.
Safe Again
Once it hit the ground I immediately put disposed of the nest properly.
