Photo Album: Free Roaming Raccoon Robs Homeowners of Roast in Spring Lake, NJ
A homeowner in Spring Lake, NJ contacted our office recently complaining that, when he had a family barbecue one night, a raccoon approached his patio and stole his dinner!
Hiding behind the Hedge Wall
Beginning my inspection, I noticed several raccoon paw prints leading to the hedge wall.
Raccoon Paw Prints & Discarded Food
As I inspected behind the hedges, I found several raccoon paw prints in the mulch as well as discarded food. Raccoons may be excellent burglars, but they are horrible at covering their tracks.
The Set-Up
I set-up two placement traps on each side of the hedge wall and placed mulch inside of them. This gives the trap a more natural feel to the raccoon.
Another Spot
I also set up another placement trap on the side of the house. Once the raccoon is safely captured, I'll relocate it to a new humane location.
