Recently, I went out on a service call to one of my commercial accounts, a condominium complex in Maplewood, NJ. The director of the complex told me that two hornet's nest were found on the property and needed to be treated and removed.
Located the First Nest
After a thorough inspection, I found the first bald-faced hornet's nest. It was attached to a lamp post in the parking lot.
Treat It
I treated the nest with an aerosol product that immediately neutralizes the bald-faced hornets on contact. There is an entry and exit hole in the nest, which is the best spot to inject the application into the nest.
And Then Remove It
After a few minutes, I carefully scraped the nest off the pole and properly disposed of it.
The Second Nest
The next hornet's nest was under a soffit, above a window of a tenant's apartment.
Sky High Treatment
I used an extension pole, attach the aerosol to it, and injected the aerosol application into the nest.
The Colony has Expired
After a couple of minutes, I removed the nest and properly disposed of it.
