Photo Album: Termites Love Books in Toms River, NJ
A new residential client in Toms River, NJ called Cowleys complaining that she had termites in her bookcase and they were eating all her books! Just like wood, paper contains the nutrients that termites need to thrive.
Termites Love Literature
The resident had a bookcase built into the wall. As soon as we removed one of the books, we came across a massive termite infestation!
Mud Tubes
Once we removed all the books, we found several mud tubes leading into the bookcase. A mud tube is made of small pieces of soil and wood and helps protect termites from predators and dry environments while traveling between a food source and the nest.
Coming from the Basement

Drilling
Next, we drilled all the concrete abutting the foundation and injected the liquid termiticide into the soil and the holes that we drilled. We also treated the hollow of the block directly under the activite infestation. Once the termites eat or come in contact with either of these treatments, in a few weeks, they'll be eliminated. This treatment covered all bases and will protect the house for many years to com
