Photo Album: Contaminated Attic Gets New Insulation in Freehold, NJ
A homeowner in Freehold, NJ contacted Cowleys for a replacement of insulation in his attic. A raccoon had invaded his attic and contaminated his insulation. After our wildlife team had successfully captured and relocated the invading raccoon, we arrived to put in new insulation.
Contaminated Insulation
As we began inspecting the attic we found raccoon feces and noticed that the insulation was soaked with urine. Raccoons droppings contain roundworm eggs that are very light and can become airborne if disturbed. People can easily inhale these eggs, become infected, and can develop a serious illness within a week.
Remove All the Insulation
With our personal protective equipment on we carefully and safely removed all the contaminated insulation from the attic.
Tru-soft Cellulose Insulation
After we removed all of the existing contaminated insulation we blew in new Tru-soft cellulose insulation. Once the insulation is blown in it conforms to the cavities in the attic to create a tight thermal barrier that provides superior comfort and helps save on energy costs.
